Yuji Itadori's Growth In Shinjuku Showdown Was Staggering
- Yuji Itadori Gained Multiple Powers Before Shinjuku Showdown
- Yuji Awakened A New Cursed Technique
Yuji Itadori was never the most charismatic or strongest character. It can be said that even at the end of the series, Yuji is far from being the most interesting character, which is well reflected by his popularity across the many polls that were conducted in Japan. However, that is not to say that Yuji is not a good character. Yuji always steps up when he's needed, and fans saw that across the many major arcs of the series. Fans saw Yuji reach unprecedented levels of power in the Shibuya Incident Arc, and if that wasn't enough, Yuji continued to grow later down the line and reached even higher levels of power. In the Culling Game, Yuji showed resilience and a great growth rate, but it was nothing compared to what he accomplished in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. It is safe to say that prior to the beginning of the Shinjuku Showdown, the timeskip was significant for Yuji. During the timeskip, Yuji trained relentlessly and achieved a higher level of power.

Did this brat just use Reverse Cursed Technique? – Sukuna
Yuji was seen training with three people in particular. These three people were Yuta Okkotsu, Kusakabe, and of course, Gojo. Little is known about how Yuji and Yuta trained. However, given that Yuta is incredibly skilled in the usage of cursed energy, fans know for a fact that he helped strengthen him tremendously. At the same time, Yuta and Yuji fought together against Sukuna, so perhaps, this training saw them utilize techniques together, more than anything. However, Yuji's training against the likes of Kusakabe proved to be incredibly important. In this training, he learned the power of the simple domain which ended up saving his life and gave him a huge boost, allowing him to win the battle against Sukuna for good.

At the same time, Yuji also ended up eating the Death Paintings number 4 to 9. This gave him access to Blood Manipulation and helped him heal efficiently, although he still struggles to utilize the advanced powers of the Blood Manipulation cursed technique properly.

Yuji Itadori grew tremendously in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc as well. In this particular segment of the story, Yuji displayed all the powers that he gained during the timeskip, such as Reverse Cursed Technique, and Simple Domain on top of that. Furthermore, he also gained new powers during this battle as well. The most significant of these powers was the Shrine cursed technique that he awakened. Shrine was engraved in Yuji's body due to Sukuna taking residence inside of him. As Gojo had seen with his Six Eyes, Yuji was essentially being infused with Sukuna's cursed energy and this gave him access to his cursed technique. This awakened after he hit a powerful black flash against Sukuna, and from that point onwards, Yuji combined the slicing and dicing powers of the Shrine with his ability to damage the soul.

Essentially, Yuji created a version of soul-slicing Dismantles and Cleaves, and these techniques proved to be decisive in the battle against Sukuna. If all this wasn't enough, then Yuji also developed a domain expansion right at the very end, which worked in mysterious ways, to say the least. Fans did not understand how Yuji was able to conjure all the places from his memories inside the domain, but, all that holds little significance because at the end of things, Yuji simply launched a Soul Splitting Dismantle at Sukuna, followed by a powerful black flash. This was the final blow to the King of Curses and he ended up defeating him for good. With Sukuna's defeat, he was ripped from Megumi's body, and Yuji was declared the victor.

Yuji Itadori Inherited Gojo's Dream And Continued As A Sorcerer
Gojo's New World Order Was Eventually Established By Yuji
Following the end of the battle against Sukuna, the Culling Games were ended as well. Furthermore, fans got to see the sorcerers reunite once again. The order was changed once the higher-ups were all dealt with, especially those monopolizing the simple domain. Meanwhile, Jujutsu Society started to reform, and Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara, all set out on their mission like usual. They continued dealing with threats every single day, and showcased that even though Gojo was no longer around, they were there to carry on the responsibility.

Fans also saw a very touching flashback in the last chapter of JJK between Yuji and Gojo. Gojo essentially passed on his dream to Yuji, knowing that he was the only one capable of carrying the burden. Gojo suggested Yuji forget about him and attain a new kind of strength that would be essential for him if he were to walk down the treacherous path of being a strong sorcerer. However, Yuji's answer filled Gojo with even more confidence when he said that he would never be able to forget him and that he would still continue to do what he does best. Gojo then told him that he expected great things from him, and this essentially marked the point where Gojo's dream became Yuji's dream, and Gojo could leave behind the Jujutsu world without any worries. Essentially, this was Gojo's goodbye message to Yuji, and it was perfect in many ways.
After the passing of Gojo, now, the strongest sorcerers of the world are Yuta and Yuji. Of course, Yuji has higher potential, but, right now, Yuta remains to be the strongest. Still, Yuji's ending was certainly good, especially because fans saw him inspire newer cursed energy users to follow in his footsteps and become useful to society.
